雖然“光棍”一詞非常形象且喜感滿滿，但其實(shí)說到底就是“單身”嘛。因此平時(shí)我們用single一詞足以表示“光棍”了。比如說：

Dan was a single guy living at home with his father and working in the family business.

丹是個(gè)光棍，在家與父親同住，并在自家的事業(yè)工作。

此外，bachelor這個(gè)詞也可以專門表示“光棍”。

He is a bachelor, once he is fed, no one is hungry in his family.

我們知道，bachelor還可以表示“獲學(xué)士學(xué)位的人”。

那么，為什么這個(gè)詞既是“光棍”又是“學(xué)士”的意思呢？有種說法是以前的學(xué)校都是男女分校，也就是我們常說的unisexual school, 導(dǎo)致學(xué)士都是光棍啦！不過究竟是不是這個(gè)原因就無從考證啦。
